Vegas Strip Blackjack - Like in Vegas Downtown Blackjack you can play the Single-Hand or the Multi-hand version of the game. However, the strategy for this game is again different if only because four deck of cards are used. The outcome for each number of hands you choose to use is affected by the fewer number of decks used.

Rules:

Vegas Strip is an American Hole Card Game

Dealer peeks on 10 and Ace Cards

Played with 4 regular decks

Dealer must stand on all 17

Double down on any two cards

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can only be split once

Only one card to split Aces

A Split Ace and a 10 is 21 and not BJ

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

Spanish 21 Blackjack - Also offered by Global Player Casino, this game is very unique and exciting. The Spanish deck is a deck with only 48 cards instead of the usual 52 (All 10s are removed). The deck used is not the only thing that makes this game unique but the rules as well so make sure you understand the rules listed below before playing the game. You would also do well to peek at the basic strategy posted in Spin Palace’s website since the strategy for Spanish is also very different from that of other blackjack games.

Rules:

Spanish 21 is an American Hole Card Game

Dealer peeks on 10 and Ace Cards

Played with 8 Spanish decks of cards.

Dealer must hit on soft 17

Player BJ Beats Dealer BJ

Player 21 Beats Dealer 21

Late Surrender

Double down on any number of cards

Re-Double down once

Surrender after doubling down

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can be re-split

Draw and double down to split Aces

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

Payoffs:

5 card 21 pays 3:2

6 card 21 pays 2:1

7 or more card 21 pays 3:1

6-7-8 or 7-7-7 mixed suit pays 3:2

6-7-8 or 7-7-7 of same suit pays 2:1

6-7-8 or 7-7-7 of spades pays 3:1

Suited 7-7-7 when dealer has 7 face up pays 50:1

Double Exposure Blackjack - A game that’s the same as the basic blackjack game except for a very nice twist - dealer’s hands are dealt face up.
Rules:

Both Dealers Cards are dealt Face Up

Played with 8 regular decks

Dealer must hit on soft 17

Dealer wins all ties except for tied BJ

Player BJ pays even money

Double down on 9, 10 and 11

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can be re-split

Only one card to split Aces

A split Ace and a 10 is 21 and not BJ

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

Spin Palace Casino says that Blackjack is probably the only game where you can beat the house, and this is true. If you want to know more about blackjack (not just the games that Spin Palace Casino has, but blackjack in general) then Spin Palace Casino will give you an introduction, a history of the game, the basic rules of the game, strategy tables, and of course the specific rules for each game they offer. If you are looking for a wide variety of Blackjack games Spin Palace Casino is the online casino to go since it has ALL major blackjack variants available.

Below are the blackjack games available at Spin Palace Casino called their Gold Series. Note that all information about the games were lifted from their website.

Vegas Downtown Blackjack - Available in two versions: Single-Hand Vegas Downtown Blackjack and Multi-Hand Vegas Downtown Blackjack. They share the same basic rules and differ only in the number of hands you can play. However, even if that is the only rule that differs the strategy is very different and depends on the number of hands you choose to play.

Rules:

This is an American Hole Card Game

Dealer peeks on 10 value cards and aces

Played with 2 regular card deck

Dealer must hit soft 17

Double Down one any two cards

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can only be split once

Only one card to split aces

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

A split ace and a 10 counts as 21 and not Blackjack

Super Fun 21 - One of the most popular games in the casino this blackjack variant is a lot more exciting than the traditional 21 game since its rules are more “relaxed” giving the player a better edge.
Rules:

This is an American Hole card game.

Played with one regular card deck.

Dealer must hit on soft 17.

Dealer peeks on 10 value cards and aces.

You can re-split up to three times to make four hands.

You can double down on any number of cards, even after splitting pairs.

You can surrender half the bet, even after hitting, splitting or doubling down.

Double down rescue.

Double down after split.

You can draw and double down to split aces.

Aces can be re-split.

Unlike 10 value cards can be split.

Your Blackjack beats dealer blackjack.

Blackjack in diamonds pays 2-1.

Blackjack in other suits pays even money.

Six or more cards totaling 20 or less, except after doubling down, always wins.

Five or more cards which have a value of 21, except after doubling down, instantly pays 2-1.

Some tips for the special game:

Surrendering. Don’t surrender unless you’ve got four or more cards, with 15 against an Ace or 16 against a 10 or Ace. The only exception is when you’ve got a hard 17 against an Ace, when surrender is also recommended.

Doubling down. Double on 10 or 11 against all up cards or 9 against 2 through 6. When doubling down, it’s advisable to surrender with 16 or below if the dealer has an 8, 9, 10 or Ace, and to surrender with 17 if the dealer has an Ace. Exceptions to this rule are a three-card 9 against 2; a four-card 9 against 3 or 4; a three-card 10 against 10; a four-card 10 against all up cards and a four-card 11 against all up cards.

Ken Uston is one of the blackjack greats, who made game history by creating a systematic (and very successful) approach to cleaning out the casinos and earnings hundreds of thousands of dollars through a combination of card counting and well-orchestrated blackjack teams. However, the strategy that would later make him famous also nearly ended his blackjack career. When the Atlantic City casinos caught on, they kicked him out and banned him and his teams from playing. It looked like Uston had played his last card…but even then, he had the gambler’s gift for taking a bad hand and playing it to his advantage. Outraged b by the way he had been treated simply because he had been smart enough to outwit casinos at their own game, he filed a suit against Resorts International Hotel, Inc., the owner of the casinos from which he had been banned. He claimed it was illegal to penalize him just for playing well. The New Jersey State Supreme Court ruled in his favor (445 A.2d 370 N.J. 1982), which led to the specific rule that Atlantic City casinos may never bar a card counter.

Unfortunately, this led the casino industry to complicate the game to re-shift the advantage away from the player (including the addition of decks, and moving up the shuffle points) but at least Uston had made his point. A black jack player had the right to use whatever strategy he needed, provided it wasn’t outright manipulation of the cards or the dealer, and did not break the inherent rules of the game. This propelled blackjack’s image as a thinker’s game, one where strategy and logical thinking could really put the player on equal standing with the casino odds, and Skills made as much difference as Good Luck.

He also made a comeback. He continued to play, wearing several disguises, and mastered the art of card counting camouflage. Sometimes he’d come as a factory worker; other times, he’d dress up as a bearded professor. Whatever his “identity” for the day, he was a master, known for such amazing moves such as spreading his bets from table minimum to table maximum on a single-deck game.

Uston put some of his secrets in a book, Million Dollar Blackjack (now part of the gambler’s bible), as well as Ken Uston On Blackjack. Both books are of very interesting and helpful reading for the serious blackjack player. Decades after they were printed, they continue to be relevant and have often been cited by today’s blackjack masters as one of their definitive reads.

He was also an avid player of arcade games and home video games, and he shared his techniques for those as well in Ken Uston’s Guide to Buying and Beating the Home Video Games. Any

Unfortunately, Uston died at a relatively young age. On September 19, 1987, his body was discovered in an apartment he rented in Paris. He was only 52 years old. Coroners declared his demise to be a result of a heart attack, but gamblers like to think that he had finally met the only Opponent that he couldn’t outwit: Death.

One of the greatest blackjack players in history was Ken Uston. He perfect the card counting technique, and with his team, wiped out the casinos from Las Vegas to Atlantic City during the early 1970s. He is credited with many of the card counting systems used today (after all, if it worked for him, it can work for anybody). For him, blackjack was a way of life—and Uston lived a very colorful, and passionate, life. He was pianist, a writer, genius with the stunning IQ of 169. And he was a businessman. For him, blackjack could be tackled with the kind of systematic pursuit of excellence that turned sales reps into CEOs. He studied it closely, worked at his card counting techniques for hours each day, and organized fellow blackjack players into a professional team that did nothing but cluster around the tables and play for big money. He may not have been the first to use card counting, but Uston undeniably was one of the first to turn blackjack into a career—and make the “recreational” game almost a science.

Uston was born in 1935, in New York. He came from a middle class family, and there wasn’t always enough money to go around. Nevertheless, he was able to secure a scholarship to Yale. He was just 16 years old.

Uston actually wanted to take music (jazz was always a big part of his ife) but his father advised him to take a practical course. This prompted him to shift to Harvard Business School, with a major in finance.

With his brains, his drive, and a degree from one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, Uston had no problems finding a job. He climbed up the ladder, and by the time he was 31, he was Vice President of the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange and earning $45,000 a year.

It was a hectic job, but Uston wanted a fresh challenge. He took up computer languages, programming, even piano lessons. But he was bored. He wanted a challenge, and one day, he heard about a professional blackjack player. Something clicked. He already knew about the connection between gambling theories and mathematics, but here was a chance to see things at work.

Uston believed that mathematics could help players win. He organized a team of some of the best blackjack players, and made a card counter system. They used the Hi Opt I system, devised by Lance Humble, and assigned counters to each table. They would make small bets, and then signal the big players when their computation showed them that the situation was “favorable for a win.” The counter would only return once the players had left the table.

In Ken’s first Las Vegas trip, at a stopover at Fremont Casino, he made $27,000 within 45 minutes, using just seven hands. He quit his job and played black jack fulltime. In the late 70s the casino had caught on, and the Sands Casino stopped him after winning $200,000. He was also banned from other casinos owned by the same organization. But he would not be stopped.

In one of my last blog posts I gave pointers and tips with regards to how to avoid being detected by casino pit bosses and casino personnel as a card counter. As I have previously posted, many casinos do not look kindly at card counters. Because of the skills that they bring into the casino, many casino personnel think that card counters upset the advantage of the casino. Many casinos have different policies regarding card counters but it is not strange to hear card counter being banned from a casino just because they know a particular skill and use a particular kind of strategy.

In my previous posts I have given pointers on how to avoid detection as a card counter. Below are some more tips on how to avoid detection and fool casino bosses and casino personnel:

* Always try to maintain a bet in your betting circle. Remember that only counters will think about how much to bet. Gamblers, on the other hand, just put out a bet in that circle. If you got busted or if you get a blackjack, you should place your next bet as the dealer is just playing his hand. If you keep practicing you will eventually learn to place a bet that is the correct amount and it will not appear that you have been thinking about how much you are planning to bet – a tell-tale sign of the card counter.

* Remember that gamblers will never ever leave a table after they have won. If the count has dropped below 1, you should still continue playing at the minimum bet until a hand makes you lose.

* You should act like you are hesitating before you hit a stiff hand. There are some card counters who take it a step further by actually talking to the card.

* Occasionally, you should insure your blackjack against the dealer’s Ace when you have made a minimum bet. You should not ask for even money. What you should do is to go through all of the motions and act like you do not know how all of these things work. This strategy has an added benefit in that it will make the dealer slow down with regards to the insurance calls. This will then give you the extra time that you need to internally calculate the true count. The best time to do this minimum insurance bet is when there is a floor supervisor observing your table.

* If you are planning to tip the dealer, then wait until the count is high and you have placed a big bet. By placing your bet for the dealer at this particular juncture will make it look like you actually want to help in winning.

* About once o either every other session you should start off a shoe with a big bet. This could be about two to three times the minimum.

* You should make different strategies as a way of hiding your true abilities.
Technorati Tags: card counter, casino pit bosses, casino personnel

A good attitude to adopt when playing any gambling game, and most especially blackjack, in a casino or online gambling site is that the dealer or the casino will have to fight you for every single dollar that they will get. By developing this kind of attitude you basically toughen up your resolve to win, which would also develop your facilities to strategize because you want to make each hand a possible opportunity to win.Of course gambling or playing blackjack also means being good with money. I have to point out here that being good with money means being conscientious with where you get it. Try to build up a separate “gambling” fund if you can or just play with money that you know is extra. Do not ever use money that you know is allotted to other things. That is a very dangerous habit and should be excised from your routine the moment it appears. Do not ever try to play or gamble with your rent money thinking that by using it you can possibly make the money earn for you so you will have a little extra come payment time. This is a dangerous way of thinking and utterly untrue.

But what precisely does money management mean? It is basically a method of betting that aims to limit your losses but increase your winnings. Any gambling game has a risk of loss. Even a blackjack player who makes a card counting strategy still only has a very slight advantage over the casino and the fluctuations in a players money can be quite alarming. By managing your money in a proper way gives you the best chance of reaching that balance that will allow you to play for long stretches of time with the money that you have brought.

In order to properly learn about money management, one should know the “true count” first because all of the betting decisions will be based on this. The true count can also be termed as the count per remaining deck. Even though this usually applies to players who are in a multi-deck game, those who opt for single deck tables can also learn from this.

If there are six small cards on the first hand in a game there will be a running count of 6. For single-deck games, the true count is just over 6 because there is just a little less than one deck remaining that needs to be played. If you are playing a six-deck game, the count per remaining deck is just a little over 1, because there is a little less than 6 decks remaining to be played. This method basically standardizes the count bt dividing the running count bthe total number of remaining decks.

The rule when it comes to money management is quite simple, “in order to find out the true count, you should divide the running count by the number of decks that have yet to be played.”

With gambling still continuing to be one of the top pastimes for millions of people, it is but natural that certain things related to gambling would increase prices. For example the prices of tour packages and airfares to the city of Las Vegas are rising at a very fast rate. And yet despite this price increase there is still a steady influx of Hawaii residents who are flying to the gambling capital of the United States in order to partake in their passions for gambling. At almost $500 per person, the price of Las Vegas packages has increased by almost $150 over the last year. Prices have also been increasing by more than 10 per cent for just the last few months.

According to Vacations Hawaii, one ofthe largest Hawaii - Las Vegas charter and package-tour companies, has indicated that it has not seen any decrease in the numbers. Actually, about 10,000 people a month board its charter aircraft. The company that owns Vacations Hawaii, Boyd Gaming Corporation, has reported that it has seen its first quarter profits at it three Las Vegas hotels downtown rise by about 2.3 per cent to $64.5 million. This is atrributable to the strong feeder market in Hawaii.

For most Hawaiians who love to gamble — be it blackjack, poker or roulette — or take vacations, Las Vegas has captured their hearts. In fact there are many Hawaii residents who are now living in the city and the local culture of Hawaii has found a place in Sin City that it has led to some references to Las Vegas as the ninth Hawaiian island. Many Hawaiian residents are actually budget conscious and buy packages that will take them on a charter fligth and then put thyem at Boyd’s California Hotel and Casino as well as other less expensive properties in downtown Las Vegas.

According to many travellers who go visit Las Vegas, prices in the city has increased just like in any other vacation destination. This includes air fare, hotel rooms, as well as car rental prices. The prices have gone up very significantly and room availability has become very scarce. Even though the weekends have been traditionally the busiest and most expensive time to go on a vacation or trip, travellers say even weekday deals are beginning to get harder to find too.

Based on the figures arrived at by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the average room rates at the Las Vegas strip have increased by 19 per cent to $127.53 from figures posted last year. the increase can be partly attributed to the arrival of new, more upscale real estate properties as well as the change in the business model used for a casino. Before a casino would often lose money on both food and rooms in order to draw customers to the blackjack tables as well as the slot machines. The new paradigm now is that Las Vegas hotels are still expected to make money off the rooms and the restaurants.

Blackjack is one of the most popular games in both casinos and online gambling sites. In fact it is often cited as the most favorite pastime of many recreational gamblers. I myself do not know why Blackjack is given this very nice distinction. It may be because it is not very complicated when it comes to the rules that one needs to learn in order to play it. But despite the easy rules it also possesses a level of depth that offers a nice challenge to players of all types of skill levels and experience. Be it a novice or an expert gambler, they will have a great time with a game of blackjack.Of course, as any novice or new gambler often does, these types of gamblers will try to ask more expert players for advice,

tips and the so-called Golden Rules of playing Blackjack. I have a belief that each blackjack player will have their own sets of rules and tips. But listed below are some of the more common golden rules that are cited by more seasoned blackjack gamblers in both casinos and online gambling sites. These rules may help you increase the probability or possibility of winning in a game of blackjack:

The first rule that you should follow is to know the game of blackjack. What this means is that you should know by heart and in your mind what you are supposed to do with all of the hands that are given to you all of the time. One very simple way of doing this is by bringing a Strategy Card with you to the casino or having one handy when you gamble online. These cards, which are available both online and in most casinos are perfectly legal and can be used by players inside the casino. A strategy card would aid you in making your strategies without necessarily memorizing all of the nuances of the game all at once.

Another good rule is to actually just stroll around the casino and try to locate a table where the chip tray beside the dealer appears to have a low count. Also look for players that have a large stack of chips in front of them. Try to play in this table because the winning atmosphere in that table may translate to you also winning and starting a good winning session with blackjack.

Always remember your wager strategy when playing. As a rule, try to follow the 30th system. In this system a player should only bet 1/30th of his bankroll for the day on any kind of hand. This system is full proof and shows that a player can actually go through a series of losses and still have enough money for when the tide reverses and he starts winning. The good thing with this system is that, if you comtinue your winning streak then you can still press your wager in order to further enrich your winnings in that table.

It cannot be denied that gambling is a very entertaining and engaging hobby or pastime. Millions of people around the world go to casinos in order to test their skills against other opponents as well as to court lady luck. Gambling is a great way to while away the time and, at times, a fast way to earn some extra money — but for some, gambling has turned into a far more serious problem — it has turned into an addiction. Gambling addiction is afflicting millions of people all over the world — it does not know race, religion and creed. It is a very destructive addiction that can ruin not only one’s savings and financial resources, it has also ruined families and relationships. For years, gambling addiction has been seen as mostly a man’s affliction but over the years, compulsive gambling is also beginning to cross gender lines as more and more women are becoming gambling addicts too. Consider the accounts given by former gambling addict Sue, who revealed that she was unable to pay rent for her apartment. Her electricity was also cut off as well as her gas. All of the basic necessities for modern living were cut from her when she became addicted to gambling. Sue’s experience is just like what any other gambling addict goes through. She said that every time she leaves the casino, she always promises herself that she will never go back but she never gets to keep that promise. This is the dilemma so many other gambling addicts face. According to gambling counselor T.J. Gorman, there is a significant increase in the number of women getting addicted to gambling — long thought to be the territory of men. Gorman added that women usually dabble in gambling more as a way of escaping a significant loss in their lives. Sue started gambling after the death of her husband. She described the casino as a place of happiness — she specifically cited the impersonal nature of the casino — a state she craved for because she was tired of answering questions about how she felt or how she was doing. The time she won more than $1000 with just one quarter at a slot machine also did not help her growing addiction. For years, Sue gambled away every dollar of the Social Security death benefits that she received. This action robbed her children not only of their mother but also their financial security. Being aware of the warning signs can help in addressing the problem before it gets worse. Gambling is an entertainment venue and nothing more. IF a person appears that he is no longer being entertained but is instead resorting to a frenzied type of gambling then it could be a sign of an impending addiction. Sue took drastic measures to address her gambling problem, she signed a form that served as an irrevocable ban on herself to enter all casinos. She said that in reality, you will never win in a casino — it just won’t happen.
Technorati Tags: casino, gambling, Social Security, addiction
