Lurking behind the popularity that poker has instilled today, Blackjack is a card game that may be simple but also has its share of excitement. A simpler game to understand, Blackjack is purely trying to have a two card equivalent that would make players closer to the required total of 21.

Blackjack is simple but has its own share of strategies for people to play on. Some play on chance and the possibility of getting the desired number is far easier compared to the different card combinations that Poker has. A Blackjack occurs once there is an Ace and any Face Card. Usually the player would automatically get double his earnings.

Basic as it may seem, a lot of other areas for consideration needs to be known as well. One is that of which to make a bluff where cards that would usually have a total of 17 may be a good card to stand on. Unless of course the players are indeed keeping track of the cards used, chances are, it would be safe to stand when this occurs.

Some would even sweeten the game with other options. One of them is a split where the first two cards are separated. This is only allowed when both cards have similar value. Hence it widens the chances of a player to win since he has two hands.

Essentially, people stick to the basics of simple going exactly or slight below the required value of 21. Getting 21 is an immediate bonus, unless of course the other players would be able to do the same, it is immediately money in the bag. In the event that a player would go over it, it is called a bust. Even if the dealer would eventually follow the same route as a bust, it is only the player who will loose.

Blackjack may not have the following that other leading card games have but is really a good game to play as well. Many see it as simple mathematics and a game of chance. But even so, people must always be on guard and aware. Some would take high risk moves in taking a hit to add to their current score. Once this happens, only two things can be expected; a good hit or a bust which disqualifies the player from that round. Short and simpler, blackjack is really something that shows promise, if only people would try it some time that is lesser complicated.

More on Spin Palace Casino blackjack games…

Vegas Strip Blackjack - Like in Vegas Downtown Blackjack you can play the Single-Hand or the Multi-hand version of the game. However, the strategy for this game is again different if only because four deck of cards are used. The outcome for each number of hands you choose to use is affected by the fewer number of decks used.

Rules:

Vegas Strip is an American Hole Card Game

Dealer peeks on 10 and Ace Cards

Played with 4 regular decks

Dealer must stand on all 17

Double down on any two cards

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can only be split once

Only one card to split Aces

A Split Ace and a 10 is 21 and not BJ

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

Spanish 21 Blackjack - Also offered by Global Player Casino, this game is very unique and exciting. The Spanish deck is a deck with only 48 cards instead of the usual 52 (All 10s are removed). The deck used is not the only thing that makes this game unique but the rules as well so make sure you understand the rules listed below before playing the game. You would also do well to peek at the basic strategy posted in Spin Palace’s website since the strategy for Spanish is also very different from that of other blackjack games.

Rules:

Spanish 21 is an American Hole Card Game

Dealer peeks on 10 and Ace Cards

Played with 8 Spanish decks of cards.

Dealer must hit on soft 17

Player BJ Beats Dealer BJ

Player 21 Beats Dealer 21

Late Surrender

Double down on any number of cards

Re-Double down once

Surrender after doubling down

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can be re-split

Draw and double down to split Aces

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

Payoffs:

5 card 21 pays 3:2

6 card 21 pays 2:1

7 or more card 21 pays 3:1

6-7-8 or 7-7-7 mixed suit pays 3:2

6-7-8 or 7-7-7 of same suit pays 2:1

6-7-8 or 7-7-7 of spades pays 3:1

Suited 7-7-7 when dealer has 7 face up pays 50:1

Double Exposure Blackjack - A game that’s the same as the basic blackjack game except for a very nice twist - dealer’s hands are dealt face up.
Rules:

Both Dealers Cards are dealt Face Up

Played with 8 regular decks

Dealer must hit on soft 17

Dealer wins all ties except for tied BJ

Player BJ pays even money

Double down on 9, 10 and 11

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can be re-split

Only one card to split Aces

A split Ace and a 10 is 21 and not BJ

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

Spin Palace Casino says that Blackjack is probably the only game where you can beat the house, and this is true. If you want to know more about blackjack (not just the games that Spin Palace Casino has, but blackjack in general) then Spin Palace Casino will give you an introduction, a history of the game, the basic rules of the game, strategy tables, and of course the specific rules for each game they offer. If you are looking for a wide variety of Blackjack games Spin Palace Casino is the online casino to go since it has ALL major blackjack variants available.

Below are the blackjack games available at Spin Palace Casino called their Gold Series. Note that all information about the games were lifted from their website.

Vegas Downtown Blackjack - Available in two versions: Single-Hand Vegas Downtown Blackjack and Multi-Hand Vegas Downtown Blackjack. They share the same basic rules and differ only in the number of hands you can play. However, even if that is the only rule that differs the strategy is very different and depends on the number of hands you choose to play.

Rules:

This is an American Hole Card Game

Dealer peeks on 10 value cards and aces

Played with 2 regular card deck

Dealer must hit soft 17

Double Down one any two cards

Double down after split

Split 3 times to make 4 hands

Aces can only be split once

Only one card to split aces

Unlike 10 value cards can be split

A split ace and a 10 counts as 21 and not Blackjack

Super Fun 21 - One of the most popular games in the casino this blackjack variant is a lot more exciting than the traditional 21 game since its rules are more “relaxed” giving the player a better edge.
Rules:

This is an American Hole card game.

Played with one regular card deck.

Dealer must hit on soft 17.

Dealer peeks on 10 value cards and aces.

You can re-split up to three times to make four hands.

You can double down on any number of cards, even after splitting pairs.

You can surrender half the bet, even after hitting, splitting or doubling down.

Double down rescue.

Double down after split.

You can draw and double down to split aces.

Aces can be re-split.

Unlike 10 value cards can be split.

Your Blackjack beats dealer blackjack.

Blackjack in diamonds pays 2-1.

Blackjack in other suits pays even money.

Six or more cards totaling 20 or less, except after doubling down, always wins.

Five or more cards which have a value of 21, except after doubling down, instantly pays 2-1.

Some tips for the special game:

Surrendering. Don’t surrender unless you’ve got four or more cards, with 15 against an Ace or 16 against a 10 or Ace. The only exception is when you’ve got a hard 17 against an Ace, when surrender is also recommended.

Doubling down. Double on 10 or 11 against all up cards or 9 against 2 through 6. When doubling down, it’s advisable to surrender with 16 or below if the dealer has an 8, 9, 10 or Ace, and to surrender with 17 if the dealer has an Ace. Exceptions to this rule are a three-card 9 against 2; a four-card 9 against 3 or 4; a three-card 10 against 10; a four-card 10 against all up cards and a four-card 11 against all up cards.

Bonuses/Promotions

Intercasino has great bonuses and promotion although they are not all geared just for blackjack players. Some promotions and bonuses can be availed by ALL real money players regardless of the game you play, while some are game-specific.

Some of their ongoing bonuses and promotion include:

Lifetime/Welcome Bonus - A special bonus for this month (an the month has almost ended…so get the bonus before it’s gone!). Players, both old and new, can get a free $100 bonus.

Where’s Ryan H? - This one is really fun. Intercasino manager, Ryan Hartley, goes around visiting multi-player tables each weekend. This is multi-player tables for different games…so you don’t really know which one he’ll be visiting. The lucky player(s) he meets gets cash prizes from him. So on weekend I suggest that you definitely play Multi-Player Blackjack instead of the other blackjack games.

Tournaments Royale - You can play tournament blackjack at Intercasino during their special events. Tournaments Royale also feature tournaments of other casino games so make sure you join a blackjack tournament and not some other game. Check the website for monthly schedule.

Competition Kings - For top wagerers only. You can get the chance to be crowned Intercasino King or Queen.

Monday Madness! - Each Monday Intercasino has some surprise promotion for their players. So log in every Monday to see if there’s one waiting for blackjack players.

$20 Question - Played every Thursday, 10 randomly chosen players are given 20 free credits.

Inter Challenge - This month the Inter Challenge was and will be held on the 14th and the 28th. All you need to do is wager $200 on the game of the day and you’ll get an extra 25 credits whether you win or lose. Of course you’ll also need to answer the Trivia. If you miss the upcoming Inter Challenge you can always wait for the one scheduled next month.

Cashback Club - Intercasino’s loyalty program. For more details visit the Intercasino website. For now all you need to know is that you get points EACH TIME you place a wager of $10.

Jackpots - No need to explain. Jackpots for winning the jackpot in ANY game.

Customer Service
Very good customer service. Their Help page contains a link to other useful pages like the Getting Started (for newbies), FAQs, Game Rules (with Strategy Tables to be found in many games), Contact Us (for those who need customer support), Bug Report, and My Promotions. Customer support includes a 24/7 email and phone support. Email addresses vary for different concerns and there are international numbers for people from all over the world to call. Most numbers given are toll free except for some that start with 00 357. Check the website for the number to call from your country.

They also have a page about Arbitration, System Requirements, and Responsible Gaming. An Arbitration page is a very rare thing to see in an online casino. Arbitration for Intercasino is provided by Casinomeister.

Although Intercasino is already very popular and you will see many reviews about it like the reviews in Bettingbots about Intercasino’s Video Poker and also it’s Interpoker, which is of course Intercasino’s poker room, I will still touch on some aspects of Intercasino just like in Global Player Casino.

Joining Rules

At Intercasino you can play blackjack through their downloadable and no-download version. When playing the downloadable version you can also choose to join as a practicing player or a player who plays for real money. After downloading and installing the game on your computer all you need to do is choose the mode you want to play in. For practice mode all you need to do is enter your desired username and start playing. For real play mode you need a few more steps to be able to join for the first time. Of course old timers need not register and can simply log-in. To register you will need to give your name, address and date of birth before you can start playing. You will also need to choose your username and password.

For the no-download version you will need to of course read and agree with the license agreement, fill in the required information (pretty much the same as for real players of the downloadable version), log-in and play.

By joining Intercasino you can play at ANY of their available games, including blackjack of course. So if you already have an Intercasino account you don’t need to make a new one to play Blackjack.

Fees

Like in Global Player Casino, Intercasino does not charge a joining fee for playing blackjack. Players in Practice Mode obviously never need to pay any real money, though they never earn real money as well. Real Money players on the other hand simply need to bet the minimum bet of each table, which is $2 for most blackjack games. Single-deck blackjack requires a minimum bet (ante) of $25. If you lose your bet, then Intercasino gerts your money. If you win then they you earn and they lose money. Intercasino makes their profit from you losses. There is no commission levied by Intercasino for the bets you win.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals are pretty easy and fast in Intercasino. All of their withdrawals are secured by the ECash Direct (UK) Ltd security system so that you don’t need to worry about security. All you need to do is visit the Cashier and click withdrawal and choose the amount you need to withdraw as well as your banking option.

Let’s take a break from taking a look at various online casinos offering blackjack for a while. In the next few posts, we will be looking at everything and anything related to blackjack. For today, I have something for you football fans out there. The Super Bowl may be over and done with by now but the stars of this much loved sport are not yet out of the action.

What happens when you put football stars and blackjack together? Well, you’d probably think “FUN” through and through. You may be right but in this piece of news that I ran across today, it was more than fun. It actually got a little bit out of control when the Miami Dolphins linebacker and the Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman got just a tad too aggressive in a blackjack game. Here’s the news clip from Jackpot.co.uk:

Joey Porter, Miami Dolphins linebacker, has been accused of punching Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Levi Jones after the pair exchanged trash talk at a blackjack table in Las Vegas’ Palms Casino.

Porter, who left the Pittsburgh Steelers to join the Miami Dolphins on a 5 year, $32 million contract this month, has been issued with a summons by Las Vegas police and cited for misdemeanour battery on Sunday night.

Both players have a history of trouble. Jones was arrested for attempting to take away a baton from a police officer in a bar fight in 2004 and Porter was involved in a pre-game fight with Cleveland Browns running back William Green when Porter was at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“They were playing blackjack and had some type of verbal altercation,” said Martin Wright, spokesman for the Las Vegas Police Department.

Jones claims he was “jumped” at the table by six other people who were with Porter after the pair exchanged words whilst playing. A source close to Jones claims he was hit on the back of the head by one of the men before being punched in the face by the 6”3, 250 pound linebacker.

According to Wright, Porter may face up to a year in jail and a £1000 fine. Wright also said the police report will not be finished until the end of the week.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the incident will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal-conduct policy with Porter facing a fine and/or a suspension as well as having to undertake a psychological consultation.

Apparently Porter and Jones have a history of bad blood on the field and are due to meet each other this coming season when the Dolphins host the Bengals.

I guess emotions run high on and off the football field with these stars. Who belongs to the better football team depends on the fans’ opinion, of course. Yet what I am wondering about right now is who is the better blackjack player between the two? With the impending jail sentence for Porter, we may just never find out. I guess these two have never read our posts about not losing your cool at the blackjack table – or any other card game for that matter – if you want to be a winner for the night.

Global Player Casino - The Finest Multi-player Casino on the Net

Bonuses/Promotions
Global Casino Player offers the usual Welcome or Start-up Bonus and Refer a Friend Program. It also has a Comp program where players get comp points for each wager using real money, whether the bet is won or lost. The number of comp points awarded for each kind of game differs. VIP members get higher comp points for the same games played while the High Rollers get even higher comp points. For specific bonus and comp point details it is advised that you read the Bonus 2007 section where the bonus policy for the year is outlined very clearly. Aside from getting big comp point members of the VIP and High Roller groups are also allowed to increase their credit card limit although the adjustment varies for each person. There are monthly promotions that usually accompany certain events, which of course vary for each month. For this month, promotions happen on the 8th (International Womens’ Day), the 16th (Freaky Friday), the 17th (St. Patrick’s Day), and the 21st (Spring Cleaning at Global Player). There are also daily specials for different games.

Customer Support
Global Player Casino has a great customer support. It supports 10 languages with English as the default language. Detailed help topics can be accessed anytime by simply clicking the F1 button. Their Help Section is very detailed and well organized. There’s a great tutorial for all the four games. For blackjack players help topics include:

Features and Screenshots

Placing Your Bet

General Rules

Overview of our Variations

Box and Table Limits

A closer look at our seven Blackjack Variations:

o Las Vegas Strip
o Las Vegas Downtown
o Atlantic City
o Reno
o Spanish 21
o Baden-Baden
o Double Exposure

Frequently Asked Questions

The rules for each blackjack variation is spelled out. More importantly they provide the basic strategy tables for each of the variations. This amazes me because even though most casinos provide a basic tutorial for blackjack and their other games it is very rare for the casinos to go as far as provide strategy tables. Sure you can find strategy tables all over the net but it is not so easy to find one that fits the specific rules of each game variation. Though this might not be a big deal to seasoned players beginners and intermediate players will find the tables very useful.

Aside from the great Help section Global Player ensures good customer service by providing toll free phone hotlines for players from USA, Canada, UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Players from other countries are given a shared hotline although international rates apply for each call. For those who don’t want to spend money on these calls you need not worry since all you need to do is provide your basic information and they’ll call you back to address your concern. Other ways to contact Global Player Casino are through email and fax.

For the Love of Antigua
One of the nice things I noticed about Global Player Casino is their pride in Antigua. They actually dedicate an entire section to Antigua with links to the best Nightclubs, Restaurants, Hotels, Sights and Sounds, Guides, etc. People interested in visiting Antigua will do well to use Global Player Casino as a starting point in their research. How weird yet wonderful is that?

Now that you know the cool blackjack games Global Player has to offer it’s time for the casino and other blackjack game features.

Joining Rules
Signing up for Global Player Casino means having access to all the games they currently offer. This means that aside from blackjack you can also play roulette, slots, and video poker. Right now Global Casino doesn’t offer poker but their website indicates that they’ll be offering it pretty soon.

You do not really have to join or sign up at Global Player Casino to play any of its games. All you need to do is download their software, install it, and play to your hearts content FOR FREE. Unlike most casinos where free plays are limited to several games Global Player allows guests to play ALL of its games. All you need to do is click on the GUEST GAMES and press play. If you want to play for real money that is the only time you will need to sign up and open an account. Opening an account is just the usual easy process of filling out a form. Deposits can be made also the usual way by clicking the CASHIER button and choosing your payment method as well as filling out required details.

Fees
Unlike Get21 there are no joining fees for playing blackjack in Global Player since most of the blackjack games played here are not tournaments. Hence the casino makes money from your losses. Of course even if Global Casino needs you to lose to make a profit you can be sure of the fairness of the software even if they are a proprietary casino and do not use the software of one of the big software providers. They are one of the really good quality casinos that care about their customers and their own reputation as well.

Global Player Casino offers Multi-player Blackjack Tournaments from time-to-time. Entry Fees vary depending on the tournament type. For Sit and Go Duel Tournaments entry fees can be $10.50, $21, or $52. Since this is a duel type tournament you leave with the pot minus the house’s take, which is the actually equal to the leftover when you round of the figures. For their 1 on 1 tournaments Entry fee is $5 and the first place winner gets the entire prize pool less $20. The $20 is distributed among the 2nd to 4th place winners. Of course since the tournaments are special events the tournament type and rules vary and so do the entry fees.

Withdrawals
Global Player Casino is known for good service, which of course includes prompt cash outs. You won’t have any problems withdrawing money from your account. Note that just like in all online casinos all your winnings from the different games are pooled into just one account. You don’t have to worry about keeping track of all your winnings and losses though because you can always check your account statement online.

Get21 - Online Blackjack Tournaments

Now that you know just how much (in terms of game variety) Get21 has to offer I’m going to focus on the other features.

Joining Rules

New Players
Joining a tournament is very easy whether playing in Play Money Mode or Real Money Mode. You will need to give a bit more personal information if you register for Real Money Mode and would of course need to deposit to your account. After the registering joining a tournament is as breeze. You just need to pick whether you want a Quick Game, Sit and Go, or a Scheduled Game. You also choose whether you want play in a Single Table or Multi-Table Tournament. Choose the table you want to join in the list and click on Join a Table then on the Register Button. If playing in Real Money Mode you will need to check the amount box to finally join the game and wait for it to start.

Old Players
All you need to do is log-in go to the lobby choose your table and you know the rest.

Fees
The amount you need to pay will be determined by the joining fee which includes the Buy-In and the Entry Fee. The Buy-In goes to the pot. The Buy-In ranges from $0.10 to $100. Single table tournament winners get to keep the entire pot while multi-table winners split the pot with amounts varying for each winner depending on the tournament type.

The Entry Fee is kept by the house. This is hot Get21 earns money, which means that whether you win or lose they make money. This kind of profit scheme ensures that Get21 offers a fair game since they don’t need to see players lose just to make money. The Entry Fee is generally 10% of the Buy-In.

Payouts
As mentioned earlier single table winners get the entire prize pool. For multi-table winners the prize pool is split depending on the number of players as well as the place you finish. The greater the number of players the bigger the prize pool is(except for special tournaments where the prize is fixed and guaranteed). A greater number of players also means more winners with as many as 27 winners getting a share of the pot for games with 154 or mor players participating.

Bonuses/Promotions
Like regular casinos Get21 has a welcome and referral bonus. They also hold regular promotions usually as part of the Special Scheduled Tournaments. The favorite is of course the guaranteed prize pool tournament.

The Pros
An interesting and very helpful feature Get21 has for its players are the articles or tips from real Pros like David Matthews, Bill Ricardi, Johnny Kampis, and Allen Taylor.

Customer Support
Customer Support is a non-issue at Get21. Though they do not offer live chat you can eamil them or call them at their phone hotlines. Amazingly Get21 has individual phone numbers for 29 countries, which shows how much they value their international customers by lumping them together.
