Blackjack Variations - Part 2
Last time I gave you a short list of popular blackjack variations. Today I will list a few more variations that are considerably more interesting to play but are potentially riskier too. So if you are concerned about the risks associated with playing each blackjack variant just checkout the house edge listed for each game. Choose the one with the lowest percentage to play the least risky game. But if you revel the feeling of beating the odds and want to play a more exciting game the following variants might just be right for you.
1. Triple Sevens Blackjack
The Triple Sevens Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games. Its rules are the same as the Multi-Hand Blackjack except that there is mandatory side-bet. The side-bet gives you a chance to win the progressive jackpot. Triple Sevens Blackjack is a progressive game and as such there is a specific combination you need have in order to win the progressive jackpot. Aside from the splitting rules used in Multi-hand blackjack which are:
- no doubling after splitting;
- no resplitting; and that the
- player may draw to split aces,
triple seven blackjack have additional splitting rules which allow you to split any pair of cards with the same rank and value but does not allow splitting of those with the same value but different rank. In Triple Sevens Blackjack a “blackjack” you get after splitting is not considred to be a blackjack and isn’t paid as one.
When playing this type of blackjack always remember that wins for three sevens are based on the first three cards and in the same hand. To win the progressive jackpot you actually need to receive three diamond sevens from the first card of a hand. Because of this splitting, though allowed, will void you chance of winning the three sevens win so that this move is most certainly not recommended. Insurance is also not recommended.
The house edge when the jackpot value is $10,000 is 37.94% A very high figure and very risky one. However, the thing with the Triple Sevens Blackjack is that the higher the value of the progressive jackpot gets the lower the house edge gets. When the jackpot value is $110,000 house edge approaches zero!
2. Progressive Blackjack
Progressive Blackjack follows the same rules that the standard blackjack games has. The only difference, as the name implies, is that Progressive Blackjack has a progressive blackjack side-bet. The side-bet pays you depending on the consecutive aces you receive. The order in which you receive the aces are important.
Like Triple Sevens Blackjack, Progressive Blackjack has a very high house edge when the jackpot value is $10,000. Its house edge is actually even higher at 39.98%. However, the higher the jackpot value gets the lower the house edge also gets. But in this case the jackpot value needs to reach $202,812.56 just to break even. Since the house edge for progressive blackjack is unusually high it is a good idea to have a prgressive blackjack betting system in mind or prepared before you dive in to ensure minimal losses and of course maximized wins.
