Choosing a Blackjack Friendly Casino

Blackjack is a relatively fun and easy game to learn. As fun as blackjack maybe, most players play not only for fun but also to win some money. As we all know no one wins every single time when you play blackjack. Like in any game of chance there is always a big chance of losing money each time you play. Because of this many blackjack players rely on different strategies, like card counting, to increase their chances of winning. Aside from using strategies there is another ways to increase your chance of winning. Although not too many blackjack players know it you can actually significantly increase your chances by choosing more blackjack friendly casino. Sure almost all casinos, both land-based and online, offer blackjack. Whatever casino you go in chances are you’ll enjoy playing blackjack just as much as going to any other casino. However, what you might not know is that some of the casinos actually have rules that are more favorable for blackjack players. All casinos of course have house edges when it comes to any game but because of certain blackjack house rules some casinos’ house edges are actually lower than others. Of course as a smart player you would choose to play in the casinos with lower house edges.

So how do you choose a blackjack friendly casino? Simple. Just choose casinos that have most of the following rules. All the rules listed below lowers a casino’s house edge and a combination of the rules will of course lower it more significantly.

Player Friendly Rules

Early surrender +0.62%
Late surrender Single deck +0.02%
Double down after splitting +0.13%
Drawing to split aces +0.14%
Re splitting of aces +0.03%
Double down cards any number +0.20%
2:1 payoff blackjack +2.32%

At the same time there also exists some house rules that increase a casino’s house edge and of course lowers your chances of winning. Try to avoid playing in casino’s with the following rules listed below.

Player Unfriendly Rules

No doubling on hard 11 -0.89%
No doubling on hard 10 -0.56%
No doubling on hard 9 -0.14%
No doubling soft hands -0.14%
Dealer hits soft 17 -0.20%
Dealer takes no hole card -0.13%
2 decks (v single) -0.35%
4 decks (v single) -0.51%
6 decks (v single) -0.60%
Pairs no re splitting -0.05%

Most probably though many casinos will have a combination of house rules both friendly and unfriendly to blackjack players. Just choose wisely. Choose a casino whose combination gives you a positive figure when you add up the percentages that the rules have. For example  if a casino allows late surrender for single decks (+0.02%) and drawing to split aces (+0.14%) but does not allow doubling on hard 11 (-0.89%) then if you add the percentages up you’ll end up with -0.73%. That means that on the whole the casino’s rules will favor them and not you. If you have a better choice, then go to another casino. Although the percentages might be very small remember every little bit helps when you’re playing a game of chance.
